%Title: HEATSEEKER
%Descr: An indentified issue from an unidentified publication. I
figured out it was put out by the Heatseeker people by
looking up the P.O. Box. It's a fun mini-book of pranks and
rants and stuff goin' on in Ashland.
Fun stuff to do at Safeway, cool spots in Ashland, a rant about

%Title: NOISES FROM THE GARAGE Issue 1 Sept. '93
%Descr: A new punkish zine covering the Kansas scene.
This one starts off with a really angry (and offensively
ignorant) rant against bicyclists. This guy sound like one of
those insane motorists that try to run over bikers at Critical
Mass. Makes ya glad you don't live in Kansas, knowing there are
people like that on the road. The rest of the zine is reviews and
interviews with Cocknoose, Sloppy Seconds, Sleepyhead, Flop, and
Helios Creed. Oh, and he hates Bratemobile.

%Title: SECOND GUESS: the 'kill me now' issue Issue 9 Spring, 1994
%Descr: Punklife, such as it is, in and about Reno. Plus Bob's
travels to exotic places like Pleasonton, Fresno and
Seattle.
Fresno sucks. Fresno sucks more than most any other place in
California. I know this, Bob knows this, and I'm sure everyone
who lives in Fresno knows this. But does it matter *that* much
when you can follow the drummer of Tiger Trap around like some
lost, albeit psychotic puppy? I guess it does. Meanwhile, Mykel
Board and Artless drive cross country with an Elvis impersonator
just to visit the clueless working girls at the Mustang Ranch and
play in Skeeno basements. Down in L.A., Bob and some geek from
the Village Voice simulatneously interview the Goads, which
produces some interesting results. That's more than what's in
most zines, but that's not enough for Bob. He does reviews,
there's fun in the laundromat, and there's Donny the Punk's
travel diary to Finland, Estonia, Lithuania, Russia and Poland,
along with his lecture to Russian punx.
One of the few punk zines I *really* like. Bob's honesty is
uncompromising.
%Info: $2.00 Each to
Bob , PO Box 9382, Reno, NV 89507
(56 Pages/D/JP)
No trades/back issues/takes ads.
%Title: SHOELACE FANZINE
%Descr: A mostly music zine put out by the former editors of *This
Zine Sucks* and *Stranjers*. The news is that both of those
zines are now dead but back issues are still available.
This new issue has a short rant by Bob, lots of zine reviews, and
big interviews with NOFX and Eidolon.
%Info: $1.75 Each to
Bob Conrad, Shoelaces Fanzine, P.O. Box 7952, West Trenton, NJ 08628

%Title: SLAM: Music, Culture, Politics, and Opinions from the
Underground
%Descr: Issue 5 Sept./Oct. '93
Music news and political rants from the punk school of
thought. I really like this one because the political essays
are clear and complete with the music comentary taking a bit
of a back seat. Resource listings, quotes, comics, and
reviews.
Political essays about imprissoned Black journalist Mumia
Abu-Jamal, the racist statistics of the death penalty, gays in
the military, the American nonconformist, Cuban health care,
Clinton's plan of National Service. Music stuff includes a
Balitmore scene report, and and interview with the band W.O.R.M.
%Info: $2 Each , Subs: $10.00 for 6 issues to
Tom Wheeler, PO Box 4809, Alexandria, VA 22303

relationships and the weirdos one meets on the bus. _Bhang Your
Head_ continues with the planned community and has satirical
essays on male gynecologists, abortion and taxes.

%Title: SPLITHEAD Issue 2 Aug., 1993
%Descr: A punkzine churned out of a spottty dot matrix printer.
Mostly reviews with an article or two.
I liked the bit about "The Ediquette of Moshing."
%Info: $1 Each , Subs: $ 4.00 for 4 issues to
Standeven , Splithead Magazine, 169 West Fillmore Ave., East Aurora, NY
14052
(10 Pages/S/RSF)

%Title: UGLY AMERICAN Issue 8
%Descr: Almost entirely record and show reviews by a bunch of guys
(members and friends of Monster Magnet) who hate and despise
most everything on Earth except for green buds and the
Beastie Boys.
Lots of reviews, a Pain Teens tour diary, a Cop Shoot Cop
European tour diary, and interviews with Sonic Boom, Eyehategod,
and Jack*o*Nuts.
Given the uninspired, graphic-free layout of this zine, I really
don't see why they need four bucks for it.
%Info: $4 cash Each to
Greg Chapman, P.O. Box 1112, Ocean City, NJ 08226
(80 Pages/S/RSF)
No trades/back issues/no ads.

tips, why cars suck, why Operation Rescue sucks, why the
environment sucks, and why Bill Clinton sucks.
